Right?

That was a little irritating. The ending was pretty good. i have to admit that i wished the positive side had been real. i'm glad to see that they left the ending open ended, so that we can infer a good long "time" of Hurley and Ben on the Island (and possibly Jack who said that he would survive the wound).

Not sure if the end was Jack really dying or if it was symbolizing the end of the show. If he made it out of the cave it seems that he either was not able to die from that wound (as he said), and climbed his ass out (which i'm not sure how, with no rope), or he had the same "Smoke Monster" effect and was blasted out. In either event he wouldn't have actually been dying.

More thoughts later... still digesting. In any event, he was right and Desmond was right, just in different ways. The Island and all of that DID matter and were important, and yet what Desmond was seeing (Purgatory, Yetzirah, the Barzakh, et al), was the ultimate ending, so there was nothing to fear anyway (in dying or potentially dying in the physical world of the Island).

They were NOT dead all along on the Island. Please don't fall for that red herring. Too much on and off the Island business for that to have been the case. But the parallel waking up was actually just another "sphere" of where Time-Space was irrelevant. THUS, that is why Whitmore, Daniel and Elowise were there when they shouldn't have been on a bomb-blast time-line.

i was disappointed that the "other side" wasn't physics but metaphysics... but oh well. i liked the purgatory stuff on the season 6 time-line. The more i think about it, Jack definitely turned into a benevolent smoke monster and didn't die (until many, many years later).

The End: What the Fam and i have figured out...

While waiting on the playground for Gideon and his momma to get back from a field trip, Elijah and i discussed the ending of the show this coming Sunday...

Elijah came up with a very good idea that was fitting with some ideas i've been kicking around with folks at work and at home. That is the idea that one time line itself would be destroyed. You would observe that in a previous (and recent) post, i posited the quantum theory that the time"line" split in two and would converge. i believe that Elijah has corrected my assumption, however, that the "new" line would be the one to absorb into the former.

His idea was that the line with the Island will be destroyed completely, along with everyone on it. i suppose i had been thinking something like this, and talking about something like this with folks. What i didn't conclude, until then, was that everyone on the Island side would die.

...once Shanté and Gid got back we talked on the way home about it. As often happens, all the dots started connected in the midst of explaining a single connection that had been made. What i came to when the bottom fell out of the proverbial bucket was this:

Yes, the Quantum theory of the split time"lines" is right, but the Island line will bow to the no-Island one because the energy in the Island - the "Light" - WANTS to be released and disbursed as in the other side.
Technically, the "other side" already won when the bomb detonated... they just don't know it yet and won't until they all fully "wake up." This will not happen FULLY yet, because they are all doing what Desmond is doing, though they are doing it on a microcosmic level. Everyone on the side with the Island HAS to die (as does the Island), for them to be fully released and awakened into their "other-side" selves... More on that in a minute.
The writers alluded to the fact that Jack will not be the new "Jacob" for long. Jack asks, after accepting the job, how long he will have to do it (in typical Jack fashion). Jacob doesn't say anything like "for a very, very long time." Instead he says "as long as you can," as if alluding to the fact that he will give too much away if he says anything at all about it. This means that the show will NOT end with Jack being alone on the Island.
The show will try to make us skeptical of Desmond in the episode on Sunday.... But he will bring everyone to the concert. Some were already going there. This is a point in Time-Space that they are being drawn to by the energy not by Jacob, not by Desmond; they were already (in many cases: Jack, Dogin, Daniel), going to be there. No one made them all get on that flight, even with no Jacob, and no Smokey. The Energy, the Light, that they erroneously call "the Island" is what is drawing them together even OFF the Island (of course, let us not forget that the Island is a metaphor).
i was WRONG about one side physically crossing over to the other side. In actuality, what will happen is the Smoke Monster thinks he is going rogue but he is doing exactly what Jacob (and "The Island"), wanted. Once released, they will all wake up - making a "quantum leap," so to speak - AT THE CONCERT, together.

In the aftermath:

Jack and Kate will probably get together.
Sawyer will IMMEDIATELY break down and go for Juliet.
Sawyer will use his role as a cop to protect Kate, as will Miles.
Aaron will be important but they may not spill that out. i will post on that after the show...
Sun and Jin will be back together and probably at the concert too.

i can't wait to see the conversation between Daniel and Desmond after the limo ("i'm saying... i think i already did" conversation); the conversation that was so big they had to save it for the final episode!

The Water of Light

So i promised a post on the water... i hate to say that i am posting this just because i said i would, but what can i say? i got busy, the kids puked a bit, my parents got sick. i had to nurse everyone back to health! But anyway, here are my three cents (accounting for inflation!)

The water in the Temple is channeled from the Water of Light in the cave. i don't know how and i doubt they plan on explaining how. The point is that at some point someone routed it there. Ben was shot by Sayyid back in the 70s, Dharma time-loop. Richard says that he can heal Ben by taking him to the Temple (like Sayyid in season 6), but that he will lose his innocence and will not remember being shot.

Thus, when Sayyid is taken, he is changed in a purely negative way. Ben was innocent so the Utilitarian transformation of the Water made him cold and calculating but not purely evil (believe it or not!). Sayyid, on the other hand, is less socially awkward and more likable person, but his karma is clearly filthier. He not only tortured repeatedly, but his past "redemption" was for his own gain of his loved one, not on any higher principle. He shot an innocent boy rather than attempting to reason with him and avert Ben's future in a non-violent way. That is, violence against innocents is his first reaction in achieving a Utilitarian means to an end. Do remember that Modern Political Philosophy drives a lot of this plot (ala Locke, Rousseau, et al).

We see the same slight glimmer in the Water of Light cave, still present in the scene of Sayyid in the Temple pool. It serves to reason that this Water transformed him - with filthy karma - into the most cut throat embodiment of Utilitarianism... just as it did to Jacob's brother...

Personality-wise, we see in the last episode that Jacob's brother was a likable person... just like Sayyid. But just like Sayyid as well, he operates out of a passionate hatred. He kills out of hate, out of ego, not out of principle. He didn't kill to punish a murderer who killed his innocent mother. He killed only after decades when the same woman prevented him from leaving the Island. He killed because he didn't get his way.

Sayyid too killed out of Ba`ath nationalism, out of employment, out of selfishness. He did not kill out of principle. They were thus both transformed in the same way. Sayyid's transformation was from contact with the Water's residual properties of the Light. Jacob's brothers was from direct contact with the Light itself. Thus he, like his surrogate mother, was transformed with full potency.

Now the question i leave you with is what happened in the parallel time strain, to this Light and the power thereof? Did it's release benefit all of the characters in some strange disbursement of power and life-blessing? It seemed at first that the show was trying to show that their lives would have been perfect without Jacob, but perhaps it was this disbursement that made everyone's lives a little better? i'm not sure what i think about that.

Let's see what they have for us tonight!

"Across the Sea"

Or don't you?

i don't really quite understand how people think about Lost. i mean i do and i don't. i think some things are obvious to everyone but then i sound like i'm talking down to people when i say "This was completely obvious!"

In this case i thought it was supposed to be. However, after finding out that pretty much no one i know noticed this, i have reevaluated that the writers were trying to make it more subtle and i just picked up on it.

What is it that i'm referring to, you might ask?

Well, i could comment on how hot Claudia, the woman who gave birth to Jacob and "The Bad Twin," was...

But a picture is really worth 1,000 words...

Instead i'll limit today's post to one topic only: The "Surrogate" mother was a Smoke Monster herself. If this isn't obvious to you, i'll explain:

Aside from when she said "if there were other people on the island, i would know about it," we see that she is able to get down the ladder to the "Dharma Wheel," without Jacob's brother having heard a sound. He simply senses her there once she's down. If you recall from the season 4 finale, this was a very, very, very deep hole. One could argue that the light source here is too strong for it to be so deep. Regardless of this potential faux pas, we see that they are EXTREMELY deep under the Orchid in Season 4. Imagine going a mile deep down a rackety old ladder and not making noise. Imagine doing that and then standing on the OPPOSITE side of the ladder than the guy you came down there for...

Then she carries Jacob's brother up that same mile long ladder? What kind of person could do this? THEN she fills in that entire hole that the whole community had been digging out, in the time that it took for Jacob's brother to wake up? No.

Then she kills this entire warrior community. Again: No. Not unless she is a Smoke Monster.

Then recall that before Jacob tosses dude down the magic chute, his surrogate mother urges him not to go down there under any circumstances. He asks if he would die and she urges that he would face a fate worse than death. When Jacob tosses dude he tells him it is to give him what he wants by kicking him off the island. He does not think he is capable of killing his brother, as the surrogate mother said as much. He also was told that going down the Light Chute would not kill one.

Everything That Rises Must Converge

Below is a quick image that i have sketched out for some co-workers. This is what is going on with the Theoretical Physics behind the show.

It is my position that they will simply cross back over in the final episode. They will first all wake up and then consult with Eloise and Daniel (who there is no logical explanation for the presence of in that timeline). We will see a missing chunk of Daniel and Desmond in the limo talking too...

Basically, the timeline did not fork, it split like a thread of many layers connected at both ends... more like a band though... there is elasticity to it. This is one working hypothesis of Quantum Physics for what would happen in such Time-Travel.

Why didn't the Smoke Monster didn't kill Sayid?

The more important issue to first consider is that the Smoke Monster did in fact speak to Sayid. The dagger that Dogen gave Sayid would have killed dude, had Sayid killed him before he greeted him, he would have died. Dogan is thus being made look bad to the viewers. However, his immediate response to Sayid was that the latter had let the dude speak. Sayid denied this, having overlooked the short greeting that he was unable to prevent.

In short, this means the dude can be killed - according to the "rules" - just like Jacob.

The "L" Word: It's that time again...

Okay, so the show's about to start in a few hours. i'm dying. It's my birthday. Literally.

Our big TV from the early 2000s finally died but my parents got us a dope smaller one (that's super crisp), for my birthday and THUS for the Season Premier!!!

i saw the leaked first four minutes on YouTube (i could link it, but why bother since it is about to be aired?). Shanté noted that Jack's hair is different (longer), in this version of the plane!

i noticed that he hasn't chugged his drink (cause he's not an alcoholic anymore!!!), and she noticed that Charlie doesn't run by (because he's not a druggie anymore!!!)

Also... the captain apologized for the turbulence (from the Island), but there is no crash because there is no incident and thus no Swan (and no Desmond not typing in the numbers!)

i expect, based on this, two parallel/divergent time strains (likely in competition with one another). Let's see if i'm right!

February 2nd - The BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!

i have to say, if there was some NBA play off or the like, i doubt Barry would have missed how inappropriate it would be to schedule such relatively insignificant nonsense as one of his speeches during Lost. i have to also say, that i was very optimistic about Obama's presidency. My only problem with what he's done so far is that he hasn't done anything; thus lending to the relative unimportance of his speech when weighed against the Season 6 premier.

There was a time when i would have opted to listen to his speech over Lost (knowing i could wait three hours and watch it online), but this was before his speeches became opportunities to blame the Republican minority for him not getting anything done.

End rant.

The First Appearance of Jacob!

So i've been re-watching Lost with Elijah (my oldest), and we're up to Season 3.09. There have been many things that i've wanted to comment upon since my last post, but time has been limited (as usual). i will say a couple of things:

1. In episode 3.08 we see the first appearance of JACOB. You may also have noticed that 3.07 was the first mention of Jacob by Danny boy; noting that "Jack wasn't even on Jacob's list." Right away they show us the "God loves you as he loves Jacob" flash in the Clockwork Orangesque scene with Carl.

We, of course, see that later; as noted in a previous post on the Dharma videos. Well in 3.08 he is clearly, unambigously the dude in the red shoes (go back and watch, right before the below screen capture they show his face straight on... it's him)...

But is he the dude who gets crushed (and is thus just impervious to lasting harm and will resurrect... a clue for Season 6), or did he wear the red shoes cause he knew some dude with red shoes was gonna get crushed and wanted to convince Desmond.

Clearly he is the one who filled in ol' What's-her-name (i always seem to forget... grey haired lady, former Other's leader, remember???)... If he IS the dude who was crushed then this means he was either

a). Indestructible, in which case there is no problem with the end of Season 5. or,
b). Desmond planning to "rewrite history" (Penny's words haha), and actually marry her, was causing an eventuality resulting in the death of Jacob; which thus was explained by Grey Haired Chick (why can't i ever remember her damn name?!?!?!) as an inevitability. This would have then been swallowed up and never happened once Desmond actually went through with not marrying Penny... this also explains the end of Season 5 if you think about it... The bomb essentially would have done the same thing and swallowed up that potential course of... fate?

2. The other episode i want to comment on is 3.05 where Eko dies. At the very end the Temple God morphs into Yemi (again), and after Eko's shpeel about how he never sinned and isn't sorry, he looks at him (super-pissed off), and says "You speak to me as if i am your brother..."

...to which Eko replies "who are you!?! WHO ARE YOU!?!?!"

Of course the Temple God in smoke form then kills him (tragically); because the Island didn't change him as it had changed others that have been sparred, Sawyer, Sayyid, et al.

Raised By Another...

Well I’ve been busy over the past couple of weeks. You may have noticed by big spurt of Lost Cult posts followed by a lull. I’ve begun rewatching the episodes from the start, with my oldest son, Elijah. We are up to episode 11 I think. I’ve been wrapping up papers for my degree (one the “God Fearers” as instrumental in the success of Paulean Christianity, and the other on the Judeo-Sufism of Bahya ibn Paquda and the legacy thereof).

Anyway, in the episode (10 I think), “Raised by Another,” there was a lot of interesting stuff…

Remember the psychic talking to Claire about how she and only she must raise Aaron? The bulk of the episode was devoted to this. Just so we do not imagine that we might have previously read too much into things (like imagining there was some sort of virus on the island, when dude had hives coupled with Danielle giving Sayyid that injection), the psychic specifically mentioned that only Claire’s love and positivity could serve as a good influence for Aaron, and alter destiny (again, here we have the notion that seemingly proscribed destiny can be altered within certain unalterable parameters… Stephen Hawkings anyone?)

In any event, Claire has her dream and who does she run into in the woods? Evil Locke, complete with creepy ghost dude black clouded eyes. He’s sitting at some sort of desk with a lamp on it in the middle of the woods. Why? In any event, it seems to be “evil dude” but a vision of him. He says things that Locke wouldn’t say but that the evil dude would seemingly. Might this have been a premonition about “the bad twin” of Locke?

If so, and I think so, then what does this say about the connection with Aaron? Why was Aaron so important? Remember what a big deal they made about him and continued to make off the island? Who is Aaron in relation to the island? I doubt this is the case, but what if he was somehow the Evil Dude? Obviously he would somehow have to go back in time and that seems a little played out for them to do this with another character. But it would make sense why he (in the form of Christian), was so interested in Claire even sans baby Aaron (i.e. in the cabin of Evil Dude… remember?) He was just hanging out there with here and a lot of folks imagined this was Christian hanging out with his daughter; yet it has since been established that Christian’s form was not Christian but the Evil Dude. Again, if you didn’t get the memo on this then ask yourself how “Christian” could have gotten down in the sealed up well with Locke back in time?

Reflections on Episode 1: THIS WAS ALWAYS A LOOP

So remember in Season 1, episode 1, Pilot, when Charlie is writing "Fate" on his fingers? Abrams had this whole thing planned from the get go. i've gone back and watched the first episode again (this time rewatching them all with my almost 9 year old... something i had hoped to one day do once he was old enough... which he is now). First thing i mention is this because it demonstrates that the theme of freewill versus fatalism was key to the entire series.

Another thing that i noticed was that the so-called "Smoke Monster" who i will just call "The Temple God," was the main character of the very first episode, and we were somehow tricked into not even noticing it! It was at the treeline the first night, it killed the pilot (for a very good reason i'll have you know... more on that in the next post), and it spared Jack, Charlie and Kate (perhaps even personifying as Jack to comfort Charlie, as there is no indication that Jack actually saved Charlie and then just ran off).

Why did the pilot have to die? God i would love to tell you, but like the creators of the show, i am trying to keep you hooked. i'll post about why in the next two days. Needless to say, the Temple God never intended to kill Jack, et al, as they were "needed;" which is why they were brought there ON PURPOSE, from the beginning...

In the first episode they let you know right away that they had been to this Island before. They give clues that we ignored because it would have been crazy to pay attention to them. First, again regarding the Temple God, Rose said to Shannon in the BACKGROUND (a hidden clue, not a central conversation), "That sound that it made, I keep thinking that there was something really familiar about it." Shannon then asks, mockingly, where she was from (i.e. where are you from if THAT sounds familiar to you). Rose had been there before, as they all had been, in time-space loop of sorts.

Oh and speaking about the beginning, notice the opening of the first episode?

Kinda sorta exactly like the opening of Season 6, from the trailer...

In case you didn't notice, even the reflection in his eye is the exact same thing. Once again, i rest my fucking case. They are back on the Island, but things DID change, the background was thus WHITE as opposed to the normal black that it has been every season and at the beginning of Season one. Thus, they are back there (because the bomb can't stop them from coming there, since they never crashed because of the energy burst in the first place, this was merely Desmond's hypothesis that there was no purpose... this is the show's way of showing you Desmond was wrong about this and thus arguing that such a view of life itself is errant... do remember that the show is preaching, and Abrams has something to say about life through the metaphor of the series).

But Abrams had this figured out from the get go. Look at the pilot write up:

A man awakes in a jungle. He is bruised and bloody, and doesn’t know where he is. A yellow Labrador Retriever watches him from the trees, then suddenly runs off. He forces himself up and winces in pain, leaning against a tree. He checks his jacket pocket and finds a small bottle of vodka. Recognition of where he is begins to float across his face. He winces back the pain and begins to run through the trees, reaching a beautiful beach.

He hears sounds ? ? people screaming. He wanders around a bend and finds what has brought him here ? ?

Notice the order of these things: Jack hears no screems and yet her rises up and runs, and runs... and runs, through the bamboo forest, until he gets to the beach and THEN hear's screams. He knew (though didn't know he knew), that he was supposed to go to the beach. Watch this scene a few times. He is walking to the left of the screen and only mid screen does the scene of the wreckage materialize MID-SCREEN. It does not come in from the left side of the screen, it just POPS into the middle of the screen. Watch it frame by frame and you will see this.

Oh and Jack's tattoo? What it REALLY says is "Ying Ji Chang Kong" ("Eagles cleave the air") from a Chinese poem "Changsha:"

Alone I stand in the autumn cold

On the tip of Orange Island,

The Xiang River flowing northward;

I see a thousand hills crimsoned through

By their serried woods deep-dyed,

And a hundred barges vying

Over crystal blue waters.

Eagles cleave the air,

Fish glide under the shallow water;

Under freezing skies a million creatures contend in freedom.

Brooding over this immensity,

I ask, on this bondless land

Who rules over man's destiny?

I was here with a throng of companions,

Vivid yet those crowded months and years.

Young we were, schoolmates,

...more on all of this later, but remember that this poem, allegory for the ENTIRE SHOW, was so significant to the writers that they put the tattoo on Jack and then made an episode where Jack BELIEVES FALSELY that the tattoo says something else, about him not belonging, and that it was an accidental thing that he had not intended. You see where i'm going with this?

Talk Nerdy To Me...

So the Greek from Jacob's tapestry (see image two posts back), says the following:

ΘΕΟΙ ΤΟΣΑ ΔΟΙΕΝ ΟΣΑ ΦΡΕΣΙ ΣΗΣΙ ΜΕΝΟΙΝΑΣ or "θεοι τοσα δοιεν οσα φρεσι σησι μενοινας," a quote from Homer's Oddessy (6.180), meaning (as best as i can find), "May the gods grant you all that your heart desires."

Understand that Homer was the closest thing to a Greek "Bible" that there was. At the bottom we read ΘΕΟΙ ΔΕ ΤΟΙ ΟΛΒΙΑ ΔΟΙΕΝ or "θεοι δε τοι ολβια δοιεν," meaning "May the gods grant you riches." These are Odysseus’ words to Nausikaa after Odysseus washes up on her island, following the Trojan War, as he journeys home to his wife Penelope.

All of this together seems strangely reminiscent of Isaac's blessing to Jacob, bearing in mind the term used in the Torah is "Elohim" (used in Exodus for the "gods of Egypt"): "וְיִתֶּן-לְךָ, הָאֱלֹהִים, מִטַּל הַשָּׁמַיִם, וּמִשְׁמַנֵּי הָאָרֶץ--וְרֹב דָּגָן, וְתִירֹשׁ."

Maybe i'm reading too much into that though. But clearly there is a mixture of Heiroglyphics and Greek (again, possibly the Minoa connection that i keep hoping aloud for... in part because of the myth of the disappearing island). Anyway, marinate on that for a minute.

In case you didn't realize (this keeps coming up in my Lost-obsessed conversations with people today), the ghost in the cabin (as per the previous post today... scroll down), was NOT Jacob, it was Evil Dude. Evil Dude needed Locke to "help him" because he needed his body to assimilate the form of, just as he then did with Christian Shepherd.

The Season Finale!!!

In hindsight, i think that i may have just made this blog to gloat about Lost theories that i figured out early on. Now some of you might be saying (or thinking), "But you were WRONG about Jacob being Christian," and all of that. Actually, i would argue that i was right about everything except the name. We were told the ghost in the cabin was Jacob. i argued that this was taking the form of Christian and that it was not actually Christian.

Now i know few of you probably remember the old leaked script of the Dopplegangers way back in Season 1 or 2 right? Well for those of you who remember me sending that out: SEE! All the did was make it Locke instead of Jack, and make them both alive at the same time (we may yet see this!)

In any event, i was dead on that the ghost Ben called "Jacob" was taking the form of Christian. So i will take bragging rights in spite of them tricking us all with the false attribution of the name.

Ancient Egypt? Remember me saying that? i think this point is beyond argument. i do believe that i also wrote about the Minoan connection, right? i know i talked enough about it with friends. Jacob seems to be Minoan. Notice the Greek in the tapestry.

Now i WAS dead wrong about Richard. Dude is straight up from the "Black Rock" which Jacob and Evil Dude were watching on the horizon. Wait and see this story explained next season, AS WELL AS the story of how Jacob and Evil Dude came upon the island.

Now the big theory i would imagine JJ & Co was going for inducing (as a red herring), is that this is "God and the Devil." i don't by it. Maybe the "Devil" and some sort of "Christ" like figure, but certainly not "God" as the Island itself is "higher" than Jacob, and Jacob subbordinate to it. The Black Smoke "Monster" would be "God" before Jacob could be. Recall the Exodus story and Ezekiel, by the way (though i'm not going so far as to claim this is what they are getting at, but perhaps what they are alluding to for those who picked up on it).

Remember the post about the Dharma still: "God loves you even as Jacob loves you" or something to that effect? Scroll down through these posts and you'll see it.

Now about Locke being Jacob... the jury is still out for me. We see Evil Dude took on his form. Perhaps Jacob's ghost will do the same thing at some point. We'll see... too hard to figure out at this point.

Okay now for some ellucidation for you:

1. The "Good Guys" ARE probably the "Good Guys." Remember dude in the van? He said the same thing then, but it seems like they pretty intentionally showed us Jacob recruiting the one Latina chick.

2. They were coming to fuck up Evil Dude's plot.

3. Jacob let Evil Dude (in the form of Locke), know this before he "died" so as to let him know he had been in control all along. Evil Locke then kicks him into the fire to prevent some sort of resurrection (chopping into 14 pieces didn't seem to do the trick with Osiris!), out of frustration and rage that Jacob had been plotting all along. Evil Locke lost his cool even when it seemed he was in the position of power!

4. The "Good Guys" were going to Evil Dude's cabin. That was NEVER Jacob's cabin. They were there looking for Evil Dude. They were surprised it didn't looked lived in. i'm guessing they didn't know he was a ghost at this point. Evil Ghost Dude is the one who stuck the statue rag on the wall with the knife as a declaration of war; knowing they would be coming the same way he knew Locke was coming at the "exact" time (which surprised everyone as much as his resurrection surprised Richard). Anyway, they torched the cabin because it was Evil Dude's, not because they thought it was Jacobs. The ash outside? Looks like dude has some crazy power up his sleeves perhaps. It seemed Jacob brough Locke back to life when he was thrown out the window.

5. "Everything that Rises Must Converge." i was as stoked when i saw this as i was when i heard the then unidentified Jacob saying "There's only one End, everything up till then is just progress." Beautiful. This sealed for me which of the two was the "Good Guy."

6. Jacob was going on all those missions to keep EVERYONE (even Richard), in the dark about what he was planning.

7. The Island "brought" the nuke there for this eventuality just the same as it "brought" the Black Rock there, ala Jacob's statement on the beach.

8. They CAN change things, ala Jacob's last statement to Ben, "no matter what he's told you to do, i want you to know that YOU HAVE A CHOICE."

9. Some sort of blast likely blew up the statue, and Ben seems to know this (and Sun seems suspects he knows), but this might not have been the nuke. It would seem the nuke plan was quite essential to CHANGE events, which is why Jacob had to intervene for Sayyid to both be there and have NOTHING to live for.

10. Oh don't believe me John Calvin? Well recall the "dream" of Desmond, AFTER Faradey CHANGES things. Desmond awakes with a NEW memory that he REMEMBERED NOT HAVING HAD! The Professor CHANGED things and thus was CORRECT. My guess is the bomb DID change things and was a unique explosion, that did just what he calculated.

11. "So they never come to the island?" Wrong. Remember the conversation between Sawyer and Jack about Kate? Jack said that if it is meant to be then it is meant to be, and presumably that he had faith Kate's and his paths would intersect somehow anyway. In the same way they will come to the island some OTHER way, even though this who plot that has occurred for four seasons will likely "enfold" on itself. They MAY have memories of it, however, just like Desmond remembered NOT remembering.

What we have learned...

Locke was resurrected. Okay, he's not Jacob... YET. i'm still not counting this theory out. It seems to make the most sense with how "important" everyone seems to think he is (more so than say Walt, who otherwise seemed really "important" to the island).
Tunisia, the other side of the world (literally), from the island, is the teleportation exit, as thought.
Egypt is still related, hieroglyphics, and even allusion in flashing from Tunis to Hurley's water color of... EGYPT rather than Tunis.
Witmore's not all bad, but don't forget that he ordered the ruthless murder of innocent people (no different than Ben). ALSO remember that Jacob (in the form of Christian Shepherd), appeared to Michael to tell him what he "had to do" to thwart Witmore's crew of mercenaries. This means Jacob and Witmore are on different pages. i'm not sure about Ben "tricking" Witmore into leaving either. Maybe, but maybe Witmore just left with his crew back in the day. Would Witmore have REALLY have been able to build such a financial empire in such a short period of time. He said "three decades" which would put him in the mid-80's when he is suggesting he left... when exactly was Penny born? i smell bullshit.
By the way, Ben came to kill John all along. He had those cleaning supplies WITH him, which we know from the motel owner in a previous episode saying that he heard a scuffle and shortly after he checked on him and found Locke dead. This means no time to run out and get cleaning supplies. Ben just wanted Locke alive long enough to find out what he knew. He found out that Locke knew a TON and then it was time to off him. In any event, Ben seems to know that if John died "everything" would be messed up. This could be allusion to Locke being Jacob in the future (remember there are two more seasons to go, they ain't giving all of this away yet). This too could be why he says he will miss him in such an endearing way.
Oh so you think tonight's episode proves me wrong about Christian's image really being Jacob? Let me explain something to you: If Christian was resurrected on the island then a few things:

a). Why didn't he talk to Jack when he could have just as easily as Locke talked to these passengers once resurrected?
b). If he was physically resurrected and thus time-warped with the rest of the crew then how in the Hell would he have appeared in that SEALED well cavern with Locke? Just because he was time-warping with them doesn't in any way explain how in the Hell he would have gotten down there! That's absolutely ridiculous.
c). If he was resurrected (like Locke), then why in the Hell would he know all this shit AND why would he have popped onto that tanker (read that "How in the Hell").
d). If NOT physical, and instead a ghost, then how/why would a ghost have popped BACK in time with Locke to be in the SEALED cavern? Also, WHY would being a ghost make him know about this stuff? That's a bit of a stretch to presume near-omniscience for Christian Shepherd's ghost (including apparition on the tanker). That's because he's not Christian Shepherd's ghost unless the writer have suddenly taken a liking to multiple holes in their plots.
e). Christian that Jack saw while OFF the island? Could have been hallucinating LIKE the other doctor claimed. Could have also just been Jack's actual dad's ghost. We have to differentiate between Christian ON the island and OFF. Two different things.

So is Jacob possessing Christian's body (since it was missing in that cave that Jack found it in)? Probably. It could be that Walt's apparition was actually Walt dreaming of Locke. Locke said Jacob saved him, but perhaps Jacob came AFTER that. We never actually see either save him. Remember, by the way, that Hurley sees Christian in Locke's cabin, then someone else pops up and he bolts. i'm right. That's all for now.

Locke is Jacob.

Remember when Ben couldn't believe Locke could see Jacob?

...then, i propose, he goes and talks to Jacob at which time (which we haven't seen yet), Jacob says that it's because LOCKE is HIM. This pisses Ben off because now he sees the man behind the curtain. Suddenly Jacob isn't so special anymore. He lashes out at Locke for the rest of the season and finally tries to murder him.

This, of course, is why Jacob tells Locke: "Help me." And this is why Jacob prevents Locke from repeating what he heard in the cabin. When Locke FINALLY reveals it Ben shoots him - at first not believing that this is really what Jacob said - then finally (after beginning to believe), shooting Locke and leaving him for dead (testing the theory).

...but before that, they are in the one station and Locke's father is there. Ben presents him to Locke and Locke asks "why did you bring him here." Ben says, "Because you told me to John?" or "You brought him here" or something similar; feigning curiosity. Nothing more on THAT matter is said. i'll have to go back and check to see when this occurred, before or after the leaving for dead... i'm guessing before which them raises some issues, but i'm still ironing it out.

In any event, Locke is Jacob. This is why he takes on Christian Shepherd's form; because Jack gives Lock Shepherd's shoes to "trick" the Island into "seeing" the corpse AS Shepherd rather than as Locke. This "fuses" the image of the two and projects Locke's ghost as Christian Shepherd who then appears all over the place, to Claire, to Michael (helping save the Island), and of course to Locke himself at the "Dharma Wheel."

i have been a real slacker about this blog. i used to post a lot on it but as i accelerated my education (read that: took way too many classes at once), i couldn't really find time for this. It sucks because i seem to have a knack for figuring out this show, and also seem to be one some what of the same weirdo page as its creators (giving me some insight into where they might be going with various plot elements).

In any event, i have officially figured out the rest of the show. i figured it all out last night. There are some minor details that might be flawed, but within the following you will find out what is going on with the rest of the plot... Be prepared:

First of all the easy stuff: Jack's dad obviously isn't Jack's dad. His dad is his dad, of course, but the guy that has been cruising around the island is not Jack's dad, it's Jacob. i'm 100% about this. Don't try to argue about it.

Perhaps, and this is just a guess (i.e. i'm NOT sure about this), perhaps the body of Jack's dad has been somehow employed or possessed by Jacob. i can't tell you for certain yet, but i do know that last night it was Jacob talking to Locke in the Orchid cave.

So why did he say that he couldn't help Locke up?

For the same reason Ben wasn't supposed to turn the "Dharma Wheel" ala the Maitriya. This was for John to do all alone. Jacob "could" have helped the same way that he helped Locke when Ben shot him, but he didn't this time because he "couldn't."

Now don't hold me to this bodily possession idea. It could just be that Jacob is taking on the form of various folks around the island, just like he did with Walt when he helped Locke after being shot. Still, i can't imagine why this form of Jack's dad would have been at all familiar to Locke (and thus why Jacob would have chosen it if it was not actually related to the corpse of Jack's father on the island).

But didn't he say to say hello to his son for him? Didn't this mean Jack?

No. It meant one of the following:

1. Desmond (i am leaning towards this), or
2. Faraday

i do not think that Faraday seems like Jacob's son, but i am fairly certain of some relationship of the white haired woman identified as Faraday's mother (last episode), with Jacob. Their speech about the island is identical (whereas either of their speech with Ben's is not). She also is not subordinate to Ben who should be ranking with Locke dead (for the time being).

So she's Faraday's mother and she is related to Jacob in some manner... But is Faraday Jacob's son? i don't think so. i do, however, think that Desmond is and THIS is why the "rules" of the island (as Faraday phrased it), do not apply to him. This is also why he was drawn to this island AND - MOST IMPORTANTLY - Mr. Whitmore KNOWS this and THAT is why he hates Desmond SO much and why he will absolutely not accept him with Penny; because he himself opposes Jacob and knows that Desmond is Jacob's son.

BAM!

So what about Richard? Where is he from? How old is he?

Richard is from ancient Egypt. i shit you not. Wait and see. Of course the actor himself has a thing for "Guy Liner" but this also fits with the ancient Egyptians... But is that all i have to substantiate my case? Of course not.

In the previews for next week, the white haired woman shows them some method by which the "original" travelers to the island "discovered" it. Remember the polar bear in the Sahara? Remember Ben popping up around North Africa Arabs? Yeah: Portal to Egypt... Okay portal to Tunisia but portal discovered by the Ancient Egyptians who then treked to Tunisia to said portal. Hey it would be a little too convenient for the Ancient Egyptians to coincidentally discover such a portal right in their own back yard now wouldn't it. Tunisia makes the story more believable.

And yes this is why all of the most ancient facets of the island have authentic Egyptian hieroglyphics(no they do not just look like them, they actually are the real deal). The Ancient Egyptians traveled there, set up the temples, the "Dharma Wheel" (and whatever it is connected to), and Richard has been there ever since. Of course all of this is related to the old Colossus of Rhodes statue foot.

So who is Jacob? i have no idea yet. But like i said, i have basically figured out the rest of the plot to the show. No need to thank me.

This Episode Answered EVERYTHING

My God, where do i start? i've been so burnt out on blogging about Lost. i don't know why. Perhaps it was their almost daily acceleration of online scavenger hunts, that just got far too old. i don't know, but honestly, the show has been amazingly great for some time now. There was a brief period of a lull; after which i had really slumped with blogging about the show. However, that was a long time ago, and water under the bridge. i really shouldn't even mention it, as Lost and i have been doing fine for a long time now.

This past episode was beyond amazing. What do i even say? Where do i even start? A couple of episodes ago, there was an hour where NOTHING was explained at all. Would it be to simpletonistic to say that this really wasn't cool? The first episode of the Season? i was teaching a Martial Arts, Qi Kung and Meditation seminar in Erie, and the fam out there and i pilled in the computer room to watch the Season premier... Well, actually we piled in to watch the "Two Hours of Lost" or "Two Hour Season Premier," or however they phrased it. The first hour of Ben's narration was such a let down; and the second where the folks from the boat didn't drop in until the end, made the previews feel like false advertising.

But this... THIS episode! What can i say? Seriously. So i leave you with these points; why i go so far as to say that this episode explained EVERYTHING:

1. The Blackrock:
a). When it was shipwrecked
b). That nothing was every found and that they disappeared utterly
c). That no one found anything but some pirates with the log of the ship
d). That the log - being auctioned - had been UNREAD by ALL but the patron family; named as HANSO.... YES HANSO!!!!!!
e). OBVIOUSLY the fact that Mr. Whitmore was the dude who bought the log in 1996; HENCE the connection to how he could have orchestrated the disappearance of Desmond.

2. The Consciousness Time-Space Travel.
a). Explains EVERYTHING about the island
b). Explains why the island can't be traditionally found
c). Explains everything to the sense that we can easily interpret this in the Bermuda Triangle tradition.

God, i know i'm forgetting something. Bounce some ideas around and i'll remember them...

The End of Season Three...

Forgive me, i have been pretty slack about the up-keeping of this blog this Quarter. For whatever reason, i haven't brought my laptop to school as much as previous Quarters. However, now that i've secured good grades for the Quarter, i think i'm safe to bring this thing along and commit some thoughts to writing.

To sum up the whole season would be a lengthy task. i'm not going to do that. A lot has happened, and much of it isn't worth commenting on. The two shitty actors appeared and were killed off; in a perfect manner if you ask me; as it was done exactly how i felt it narratively needed to be.

Now, i'll hit on a few ideas, and leave it at that...

The last time i posted on this season was more of a series of complaints about how badly season three was going. With that said, they've somehow turned it around 180 degrees. i'm not entirely sure how they did it, or at what point it occurred, nevertheless, the fact that it has happened is a testimony to the genius of the plot.

With that said, in reference to Ben's parting comment to Locke - "Well i hope for you sake that he helps you" (or something to that effect) - we will see a surprising intervention of "Jacob" in season four. All in all, i have to say that the introduction of Jacob is a pretty damn cool twist.

So anyway, how about the fact that Xerxes from "300" is apparently ageless? Clearly another great twist and thickening of the plot in this season.

The great thing about the trans-seasonal plot is that just when you think you've been told something, you more often than not have only been told half of the story. Thus we have the reference to the "Hostiles," confusing us when the "Others" were revealed. We find ourselves calmly accepting that these "Others" were those who were telepathically schizing out people into running in circles, chasing ghosts and shooting each other. It turns out that all along, these "Hostiles" were something entirely different and the Others were as utterly unimpressive as they seemed from the beginning revelations of the season (which frankly seemed a major let down until realizing that they were not the ones with all of the extraordinary powers).

Interesting season for sure. Somehow, they managed to turn around the suck-fest that they were beginning to slouch towards earlier in the season. Well done.

"Tricia Tanaka Is Dead"

i hate to say it, but earlier in this season i was becoming a bit less of a Lost Cult member. The addition of the two new and obnoxious characters, what's-her-name and what's-his-face, in the episode down in the ? Hatch was enough to turn me off from the show permenantly. Thankfully, the writers kept the duo out of the episodes over the past few weeks... Until last night.

i don't know what it is about those two. There characters are artificial and intrusive. It is NOT the fact that they were not featured in earlier episodes. Clearly there were many others who were not featured in earlier episodes, who nevertheless remained far less annoying. Think of Alex's boyfriend: Seemless integration into the plot. Think of that crazy German enforcer lady; coming to supposedly "lay down the law" for the killing of one of the "others." In that case also, there was seemless character integration into the plot.

These two are another thing altogether. They are too talkative. They are also too "up in the mix" of everyone. If they were this intrusive NOW, then why were they not being so intrusive for two seasons prior? It breaks the believeable momentum of the show and reminds us that it is all just acting. Sucks.

Last night the writers tried a better approach at reintegrating them. This time, they shuffled them in and out of a large crown of never-before-seen faces - welcoming back Sawyer and Kate - and it WORKED!

See?

...well, at least for a moment. The two, however, promptly overstepped their bounds when what's-his-face pulled on the purportedly "sexy" shorts of what's-her-name, to keep her from running off without him. This was perhaps the corniest and most obnoxious scene in all three seasons.

Please someone make these two die off quickly, and in a believeable way. If i was an Emperor and Lost was being created exclusively for my viewing pleasure, i would likely have whoever cast these two actors executed in the public square, along with the actors in question for sucking so bad.

Oh, and how was Hurley Bi-racial as a kid?

Come on now...

To my dismay, the seams of Lost's plot are starting to show themselves more and more.

How about the fact that damn near anyone who gets introduced late in the game automatically gets kicked off or you never hear about them again? Who's left from the other side of the island? Bernard, but he and the wife must be off making up for lost time in some remote cave somewhere.

Everyone else has died now, and i'm beyond annoyed with a pointless killing off of Echo. What was the point of all this drawn out "he's dead, no he's alive, no he's dead" bullshit with the hatch blowing, then the Polar Bears and the tripped out Amenita (or whatever), sweatlodge vision of Boon seeming to indicate the Echo was pivotal to getting back Locke's friends? Did the writers forget about all those avenues they had opened up when deciding abruptly to kill dude off?

It's crap. There are all these politics in the show, behind the scenes, where people get kicked off and they almost always are killed off in the plot. Ana Lucia, the psycho, mental ward chick, they got DUI's whilst on set and were written out of the plot.

i at least have to hand it to the writers for writing Walt and Michael out of the plot without the obligatory killing-them-off angle (which is getting a bit ridiculous).

Sorry, but this was hands down the weakest episode i've seen thus far. Of course that's not even to get into the INCREDIBLY bad acting of the new hot chick on the show. Her lines are completely forced and remind me that i'm watching a show; pulling me out of the momentum of an otherwise compelling storyline.

Not sure what to make of this now...

Okay, for those who haven't seen the Season Premier of Lost.... i'm sorry, i have to start a little bit without you. Nevertheless, i'll keep the spoilers vague and to a minimum.

First of all: New station "Hydra" logo, as seen below...

i'm not sure if this totally debunks the ol' "leaked" Dharma video, but i have to say that both in terms of how the video was put together and the detailing of the different stations, i still find myself thinking the video has to be tied in some how. If i'm proven wrong then so be it. i definitely was wrong about Hanso being Mr. Zeke. Oh well...

Nevertheless, though this "Hydra" station is said (in the episode) to be where the Sharks (and dolphins), originated, the logo DOES NOT match that found on the sharks in the screen captures, nor in the washed up "DJ Dan" pictures (with the Swan logo on the shark). Something to think about for whatever it's worth.

Beyond that, i've got a million thoughts swirling in my head about the latest episode. Expect more soon as i string these thoughts together in some manner approaching cohesiveness... or cohesion or whatever.

By the way, i suspect Juliette will defect at some point.

Yes, imagine my surprise when the above book was in my UPS Store box. Not only did these folks take the initiative to track down an address to send the book to me (probably by going to the Hashlamah or New Dawn sites that had it listed), but they sent me the first free review thingie i've gotten since back in the old hardcore zine days when i got damn near every new release (the best was getting big-ass packages from Victory Records back in their hay-day).

So expect a review here. Already they are on my good side though. Any company that takes that type of initiative is okay in my book.

Anyway, in a barely-related, somewhat amusing story, the UPS store people were all tripped out by "Lost Cult" being on the package. They were like "Is 'Lost Cult' you?"

i had to explain to them that it is my blog about the T.V. show "Lost." However, i went on to tell them a funny story about how back in 97 my wife and i began corresponding through the mail (she actually wrote to be from the aforementioned zine); around the same time as the "Heaven's Gate" cult was getting publicity with their Hale Bop stuff.

So anyway, i sent my wife this big package of stuff BEFORE those dudes all killed themselves. The return address said "Heaven's Gate Cult."

So these guys all kill themselves WHILE the package was in transit. By the time the package arrived in California (where my wife lived), there was all this drama with the postal inspector or someone coming and talking to her mom about whether her daughter was involved in Heaven's Gate.

Okay, that's the kind of thing that's only really funny if you have a messed up sense of humor like me i guess. Anyway, free books. Yeah...

My Childhood Obsession with Todd McFarlane and his obsession with Lost

This is too weird. To say that i was a fan of Todd McFarlane (since fifth grade), is an understatement.

Since he started with the Amazing Spider Man and the Incredible Hulk, i've been hooked. In fact, it could be argued that Todd got me obsessed with drawing. He was definitely a big influence.

So anyway, here we are like 18 years later and i'm obsessed with Lost... What do i come to find out today? Todd McFarlane is making Lost figures!!!

Crap. i guess i'll have to fight off the urge to collect them now. i tried, unsuccessfully, to fight off the urge when the first series of Spawn figures came out. Eventually i gave up, but still retain a rare figure of Angela with ribbons on her spear and the coveted 50th issue figure sent only to comic stores who ordered sufficient quantities of the 50th issue.

Anyway, it's trippy how similarly weird people seem to gravitate towards Lost obsession. That'sall... just my thought for the day.

Island Invisibility No More?

It's okay to admit when one is dead wrong about something and i was dead wrong about Desmond and Penny being the potential adoptees of Aaron...

Oh well, it looked like Desmond, but the chick is definitely not Penny. So much for that connection.

Moving on... My theory, in light of the Season 2 finale, is that when the electromagnetic thingie schitzes out it allows the "mask" of the island to dissolve and gives off a signature of the island (on radar, electromagnetic this or that or whatever). In one way or another the island becomes "visible."

Now Penny, when her beloved Desmond went missing in said area, probably began investigating only to discover that there was some mysterious "Brigadoon" type of island that appeared for a moment and then disappeared to researchers in the area (or whoever). So she likely paid dudes to check that possible connection out. On September 22 they find that massive "blip" appear with the "System Failure" event.

Now the two Portugese speaking dudes said something telling: they said something like "did we miss it again?" It seemed clear that they HAD in fact missed it again. Yet when they went to the computer the electromagnetic signature was clearly still there! This seems to indicate that with the system termination via the Swan key, the "mask" of the island was shut down and the island became visible for a more sustained length of time. Thus, the two Portugese speaking dudes called Penny in the middle of the night and told her that they had found it.

My theory is that Penny knows the location of the island now, and it is potentially visible to the outside world now...

Oh yeah, and how cool that the "Others'" hatch is bullshit...

This means the whole thing STILL conforms to the "leaked" film (something i want desparately to be true haha). The Others' hatch is fake, the Pearl station is itself part of station 1; a mere fake station set up to observe subjects. Thankfully i was right about that. The only "X-factor" left is "the Flame." It could fit in outside of the context of those 6 research centers (like the Medical Center for instance). Anyway, time will tell. As was the case with last years season finale, there are obviously more questions than answers.

Okay, so this is really causing me a lot of grief (relatively speaking of course)... What's the deal with this. i definitely don't get the vib that the online "leaked" Dharma film is a fake. There have been some impressive fake images but there are always a lot of obvious things about them (such as just having a ton of clues laid out neatly). The parameters of the research in the "leaked" film are consistent with Hanso research. The theories and the like are all on point and i would find it difficult to imagine that a forger would be able to pull of the video so authentically in terms of visual, audio and conceptual evidence...

With that said, here is the problem. The "leaked" video has the following image listed as 5 out of 6:

Now on the show we have the orientation video for the Pearl station as follows:

This presents a few options:

1. The Pearl Station is ITSELF a part of Station 1: Psychological Research. This may well be because we know that the orientation video has Dr. Candle providing a different name than in the Swan video. This means he is lying in one video. Additionally, as this video convinces Locke, the good doctor claims that the duties performed in the Swan hatch are meaningless. Nevertheless, as the hieroglyphics themselves ("Cause to die"), seem to indicate, that is far from the case.

2. The "leaked" video is a hoax. i don't think this is likely. If so then i am in awe of the forger and wonder how they have such great video resources at their disposal along with such believable actors (unlike one hoax video which was pathetically obvious due to the actors), AND on location filming of their actors.

3. There are other peripheral stations. This, however, would do little to explain the numbering of the stations. However, THIS could be the case ALONG WITH option 1.

Remember the OLD Hanso website? God i need to find a mirror of that somewhere. Anyway, on the OLD website it said that one of their facets of research involved investigation Extreterrestrial this or that. When you clicked on the link it said you didn't have permission to access said page. Cool enough.

Well in addition there was the following article on the "DriveShaft" band page. Now i was going to post this a while ago, but then i thought i'd wait until i found a mirror of the OLD Hanso site. Anyway, after going back and forth on the issue, the DriveShaft site being down made me worry that they might kill off that site, so i better hop to making this connection public.

Those of us who are clued into the presence of extra-terrestrials here on earth often have to deal with scorn and disbelief from those un-believers. However, when incidents like the disappearance of Flight 815 occur, we have to wonder why those un-believers chose to be blind to the obvious facts.

Fact - Flight 815 disappeared completely off the radar. With the numerous 'black ops' spy satellites that are hovering over the earth, an object disappearing completely is almost unheard of. How is it that UFO's seem to evade these satellites, you ask? Well, as you should know, all alien aircrafts are equipped with stealth technology that make our Stealth Bomber look like a flying toaster. However, the question you really need to be asking is whether you really believe that the government doesn't know about our other worldly visitors.

Fact - The signal from Flight 815's black box stopped transmitting. The so-called 'black box' was designed to be able to transmit from anywhere 'on earth'. The only way the signal could be stopped is if it was out of range, i.e. off this earth.

Fact Exploration into the backgrounds of several of the passengers turned up several who had no history. No driver's licenses, no social security numbers. They were essentially people who 'do not exist.' You might say that they had lied about their names or were traveling on false documents, however, it is well known that these people are most often government spooks traveling secretly throughout the world.

Many of these facts could be misconstrued by un-believers, but the loyal readers of this fine magazine know the truth and our voices are growing louder every day. The Truth Will Not Be Ignored!!

Now the most important points here are obviously that the author is claiming that there were ficticious names and social security numbers for some of the passengers on Flight 815. Can anyone say LIBBY!?! Anyway, the wife and i have been kicking around some theories on that, and additionally, lately i've been seeing some others comment to the same conclusions that various people might have been Others. Based on the Hurley psyche ward flashback episode, it would seem that the Hanso folks (assuming that this includes Libby), were following and/or orchastrating shit waaaay before Flight 815.

Anyway, so everyone knows about the "Bad Twin" novel tie in. For the fellow obsessive Lost Freaks, we all know about the "Gary Troup" previous text "The Valenzetti Equasion." Now check out some Valenzetti images from video.google.com.

The Shark's logo appears to be the Swan, not Station 1. Observe...

Now, i do have to say that the image from the show appears to be Station 1, as i said in the lost about the Dharma film with all 6 Stations. Honestly, i can't imagine HOW this logo could be the Swan logo. However, good ol' DJ Dan's "ConspiraSpy of the Month" yielded this clue:

"We were diving off the Great Barrier Reef when we found this partially decayed shark carcass. Check out the logo on this guy...definitely not a tattoo or a brand..." -Richard P.

Anyway, maybe they have all the logos on them. Whilst we ponder stuff like this it almost makes waiting a whole week between episodes bearable. The only curious thing is why it wouldn't be the Arrow station logo, as that station dealt with Zoological Studies...

Desmond's Behind the Scenes Connection...

So throughout the Lost episodes we have seen how pretty much everyone is tied in together; in a sort of 1 or 2 degrees of separation, rather than 6...

So what is Desmond's connection to anyone else besides Jack? Is that it? It IS strange enough that Jack came across him running with a Jersey on that looks like a 33rd Degree Freemason two-headed bird. But there's more to it than that.

All of this continues to beg the question of how everything could be THIS intricately intertwinned within the plot, and how that relates to the Valenzetti Equation; the same Equation that presumably gives the Others the seemingly uncanny ability to predict the actions of the survivors with little or no variance in their actuation.

"Others'" Hatch and the Season Finale Previews

The following is a screen-capture from the "Three Minutes" episode flashback to Michael being taken to the staged camp of the "Others."

The logo appears to have a block type "8" in the middle. However, this begs the question of why it neither matches with the Dharma video of the six stations, nor would it make sense in any symbolic sense.

Perhaps the logo itself is fake like the staged "Others'" camp. i say this because the logo is painted right on the front so as to seemingly give disinformation. Perhaps, or perhaps it is a non-research Hatch like the medical one and the Pearl station at the "?". Time will tell.

Oh yeah, how's about that freakin' crazy "Swan" Dharma key?

With this huge pile of tubes in mind, was the Pearl crew perhaps the real subjects of a psychological experiment? Perhaps this was why Dr. Candle used a different name in their film, AND perhaps this is why he said that the Swan activities were "pointless." It would appear that Locke took this mind-game seriously, when in fact both Eko's dreams and the literal translation of the Hieroglyphics state that the work of pressing the button is important (the symbols claim that to do otherwise will "cause to die"). Obviously, if there was a person-to-person, or Station-to-Station communication via these tubes, then they would be reused like tubes at a bank window. Instead, it seems that the tubes were disposable and were replaced without even being opened. Obviously the "pointless" activities were those going on amongst those who filled out the contents of these tubes...

We see Jack swimming out to the boat in the preview. That may mean that it is either unmanned, or that it is Desmond alone on board (who Jack would likely not fear). We do see Desmond in other parts of the preview, and it is worthy of note that he claimed he happened upon that island in a trip around the world. Interesting... Could the boat have been what he was running to when he believed he was relieved of his duties?

Craziness in those there previews. i can't believe i have to actually wait a whole nother week!

Major Lost Clues: Part 1, Alvar Hanso's Identity

Okay, there is a ton that i would love to discuss about some major Lost clues. However, i don't want to unload it all at once... Well actually, i'm quite obsessed with this show and the "Lost Experience Game" that they have created, and i WOULD in fact like to unload all of my thoughts at once. However, both time and conceptual organization have their limits. Thus, first thing is first though; let's address things i was dead wrong about in my last post:

1. One thing i will say is that Hugh McIntyre is apparently not "Henry Gale." i missed the bio pic of Hugh before. He's some dude. So whois "Henry Gale." Definitely someone of importance. That much i'm sure of. i'm kicking around some pretty insane ideas. Nevertheless, Mittelwerk appears to be the "Heir Apparent."

2. i said that it didn't seem likely that the "Others" had someway to "make doppelgangers." i was wrong. Yes, that sounds like a crazy conclusion to jump to. However, for those who have seen the "lost" Dharma Initiative film, pay attention to the "Initiative Classifications" of Station 6.

Yes, you read that right: "Monoclonal Research." It would seem that the Season 1 "leaked" script, AND the Michael mystery may well have been solved. Think back to Sprite's "Do You Have The Proof" campaign. "Monoclonal" usually refers to antibodies, but in this case there is no specification that it is not "Monoclonal" in the literal sense; i.e. Cloning Research. This may explain the annotation on the blast shield in the Swan Bunker that has "Magnus Hanso" supposedly buried by the "Black Rock." Since Hanso was supposedly well advanced in years in World War 2. Now consider the following regarding the names of the Hexgrams in the I Ching, relative to "The Numbers," of the Valenzetti Equation:

Everything seems to take a natural order. First you have childhood, then marital union, followed by the humility that comes with adulthood and experience (realizing that as a youth you didn't know shit). Following said humility comes delight (parenthood, honor following humility ala King Solomon's Proverbs), followed by "falling apart" in old age and death... Yet, the numbers don't end there. The 42nd Hexgram is "Increase." Consider that in the light of the Dharma Initiative Cloning experiments AND in the light of the old-to-young images of Alvar Hanso onsite in the "lost" Dharma film.

"And surveyor of of overseas facilities." Most likely this "of of" is just a typo. Nevertheless, it is strange to have a typo in a film strip as part of a such a huge show. However, it seems unlikely that "of of" could mean anything. Still, old Hanso has gray hair here on the Island; the "overseas facilities."

After the film shows OLD Alvar descending into the ground on the Island (the cameraman makes sure to give a couple of seconds of panning out to show the island), via some Mayan type rock stairs, we see this final, enigmatic shot of a now YOUNG Hanso with brown hair; hair that shouldn't have been brown since the days that they didn't have color film in regular use.

"But wait! There's more!!!"

Check this crazy shit out: The NEW Hanso site is made in Flash (more on the OLD Hanso site in the upcoming Valenzetti UFO post). Whilst one would think that this means there are limited secrets that could be extrapolated from the coding of the site, there is an exception. If you have Acrobat Professional and save the Bio page of Alvar Hanso as a PDF and then go into editing/touch up mode in Professional, then you find this.

Many Lost nerds on the Internet have figured out that there is a hidden bio picture of Hanso being the hazy, distant worm's-eye view of him so prevalent on the Hanso site.

How do you accomplish the dissection of the Flash file, in order to view the hidden picture of Hanso? Just follow these four easy steps:

1. Go to the T.V. ad section of the Hanso site and right click the site and click print.

2. Select the Adobe Acrobat as your printer. It will make a PDF file of the Flash site.

3. Open your newly made PDF file.

4. Go to tools/advanced editing/touchup object tool and click the Alvar picture and drag it over and a picture of a man can be seen.

This picture is apparently just a clearer image of Alvar Hanso. However, IF this is indeed the case, then it is an important revelation. MR. ZEKE IS ALVAR HANSO!

Look at the image and compare it with Zeke. Mr. Zeke is of course the apparent "leader" of the "Others," that one "Henry Gale" blurted out "IS NO ONE!" At the time it seemed to direct the attention and the imposter "Gale." If he was telling the truth then he not only knew who "someone" was, but he seemed insulted that a peon like Mr. Zeke would be considered anybody significant. This implied that though Mr. Zeke APPEARED to be calling the shots in several episodes, he was no one compared to this "Gale" imposter. Not surprisingly, it seems Mr. "Gale" was full of shit.

A comparison of the hidden Hanso bio picture and a picture of Mr. Zeke sans theatrical beard. Remember the Claire episode that this picture was taken from? Ethan seemed to be reporting to Mr. Zeke. Strange then that "Henry Gale" blurts out "He is NO ONE!" When he finds out that the folks in the Swan bunker seemed to intuit that Mr. Zeke was in charge.

Notice that their facial bone structures are the exactly the same. Moreover, they both have a mole on their forehead in the exact same spot. Though they don't appear EXACTLY alike, the mole issue puts it over the top. That would be too HUGE of a coincidence. It's the same dude.

Here's some more juice relative to the whole "cloning" issue, from a "hidden" Dharma mirror site that was floating around.

HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION

facilitate a better society through Genetic Engineering and Cloning. Phase 1 of

Purgatory: "Gary Troup" and Various "Lost" Clues

i have to give Sprite props on their advertising campaign, tied in with the "Lost" series. Naturally, anyone or anything supporting this amazing show is going to get props from me, even if Sprite is a bit on the boring side (what is the point of Mountain Dew without caffeine)? Anyway, during last Wednesday's episode of Lost there was an amazing Hanso Foundation commercial run, which in fine print said it was sponsored by Sprite. The website on the commercial was "Sublymonal.com" which in and of itself is a clue to unlock a clue.

The normal Hanso Foundation website is TheHansoFoundation.org.If you are at all into Lost then you NEED to check this site out. There are clues upon clues in every nook and cranny of it. To get the Persephone Password for TheHansoFoundation.org, you'll need to visit Sublymonal.com. That is about all i've found on the latter, save the name itself. Let's consider:

Subliminal is the obvious word that the name is playing on with a mesh of "Lemon" and "Lime." Naturally, these are the flavors of Sprite, which claims on the commercial to be the sponsor of the Hanso ad. So consider this, ANOTHER website registered to Sprite, which is an ad campaign for their product. Talk about "Subliminal," read between the lines of what Sprite issaying. Additionally, look at the countdown clock. Exactly the same number of days until the Lost Season Finale.

Consider the content of "DoYouHaveTheProof.com" in light of the following "leaked" script prototype.

Now, after reading the "leaked" script, consider the sudden reappearance of Michael (bearing in mind that if you notice in the previews for this week, Michael is being injected with something by Mr. Zeke in the flashback of being caught by the "Others"), and THEN consider Sprite's "subliminal" advertising campaign that is going to be "revealed" strangely at the same time as the season finale of Season 2 of Lost.

DO U HAVE THE PROOF? You know, the proof. The proof that you are who you say you are. The proof that you're yourself and nobody else. The proof that you are one of a kind, the real deal and the genuine article. No two proof's are alike, but everybody's got one. We went out on the street to find the proof. Now back to the leaked script (if you ask really nice i'll give up the second "leaked" script and let you know my thoughts on it)...

It seems fairly tough to imagine that the Hanso Foundation and Dharma Initiative have figured out some wild-ass way to make doppelgangers. Nevertheless, during Season 1 there was a lot of speculation amongst nerds like myself on forums. Alot of this centered around the name of the French woman, her barely referenced husband and a book on doppelgangers in French by a man of the same name. Now, it turns out this book likely doesn't exist and was mentioned in Amazon reviews by people who are likely the Lost creators or their employees. These guys seem to dot all their "i's" and cross all their "t's." Clearly this is the most interactive television show in history. i'm in awe.

Nevertheless, Michael seems to fit the bill of what was being speculated about in Season 1. However, the writers/creators have already said that the script is more or less living; and whilst they have a general plot, ending and key points in between, they are constantly evolving the plot. Thus, the "leaked" script doesn't mean that was carved in stone, but that it wasa general idea that they were going with. Now, in the previews for this Wednesday's episode of Lost, we see a lot of "flashback" scenes with Michael, that seem to explain what happened to him when he was off searching for Walt. One revealing scene in particular is a short glimpse of Mr. Zeke injecting him with something. This makes sense how there was a sort of Doppleganger EFFECT with him. He clearly didn't seem to be acting like good-ol' Michael just on amass-murder mission to get his son back. i'm not buying that hypothesis.

Oh yeah, and "Henry Gale," no, he's not Hanso, but he's "the guy." He's the "Heir Apparent." That's my educated guess for now. Just you wait and see...

Now, more juice... Remember two episodes ago when Sawyer was reading a manuscript called "The Bad Twin," and Jack came and threw it in the fire? Well though this was a clear reference and clue to the re-emergence of Michael in that same episode, there is a lot more to it. Rumored to have been written by Stephen King (in reality), the author "Gary Troup" was supposedly a passenger on Oceanic Flight 815 that crashed on the island. Hyperion Press plays the game on their website and on the sleeve of the book; speaking about the crash and saying that Gary Troup disappeared with this flight right before they published the book.

Though the book "fiction" (actually, fiction within fiction), thereare a TON of clues. It is based on fictional "reality" and has a lot of info on Alvar Hanso, the Hanso Foundation, and yet more subliminal info on another "Heir Apparent." i could say more about this, but it would turn into a humongous post. Now, in a staged interview by this fake author, he is asked about the Hanso Foundation and how he drew on his previous "non-fiction" book. What is that book you ask? Checkit out...
